AIJAC Executive Director Dr Colin Rubenstein said, “The Australian Jewish community welcomes the signed agreement by Israel and Hamas to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners very soon and for the withdrawal of Israeli troops to an agreed line. Hopefully the next phases – the end of any Hamas role in Gaza, and the commitment by the international community that Hamas and other terrorist groups are disarmed – will also be agreed upon very soon.”

AIJAC deeply sorrowed by Manchester attack, calls on Australian leaders to pay attention

October 3, 2025

As deep as our sorrow is, it does not come with any sense of surprise. AIJAC hails New Zealand’s approach to recognising “Palestine”

September 29, 2025

The Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) today hailed New Zealand ’s announced policy of delaying recognition of a Palestinian state until it can better contribute to a two-state resolution as principled, sensible and firmly “rooted in empirical realities.”

AIJAC deeply disappointed at Government’s counter-productive recognition of a Palestinian state

September 22, 2025 | AIJAC

The Palestinians’ chosen path since 2014 – a stubborn refusal to even negotiate, encouraging, rewarding, and celebrating violence, and indoctrinating its children to hate Israel – will be strengthened by the Government’s morally compromised decision. What is certain is that this decision will not help Israelis and Palestinians achieve peace, and neither will it accelerate the creation of a Palestinian state.
