Israeli protests: Government forced to put judicial reform on hold

March 28, 2023 | Ran Porat

In coming days, a middle way must be found to rebuild Israeli social cohesion, likely involving reforms that can claim some measure of national consensus. Almost everyone now understands this is crucial for Israel’s success, safety and security.

Letter: Palestinian extremist voices were opposed because of their racism

March 24, 2023 | Jamie Hyams

The opposition was because Ms Abulhawa has frequently produced social media widely regarded as antisemitic, not just opposing Israel, so anyone who’s against racism should have opposed her participation.

Letter: Calling out racism

March 10, 2023 | Jeremy Jones

On 3 March, The Age printed an article by Maher Mughrabi which could be read as (i) arguing racism is not problematic if it is used to further a cause with which one agrees and (ii) that Jewish people who object to antisemitism have dishonest motives, implying their real agenda was defence of Israel. Both of these claims are wrong and dangerous.

March 2, 2023 | Ran Porat
