AIJAC and the Sydney Jewish Museum co-hosted the launch of Greg Sheridan’s new book, “God is Good For You”, for the Jewish community on Thursday, August 2. Sheridan, the foreign editor at The Australian, discussed the book with AIJAC’s Jeremy Jones, followed by a wide-ranging and engaging question-and-answer session covering a broad range of topics.

The conversation focused primarily on the place of religion in society and the potential consequences for morality and even national self-preservation of a Western society which is becoming increasingly ignorant of religion and its positive contribution to our culture. Sheridan also touched upon the unfortunate paucity of religious education; the religious belief of many politicians; the contribution of Jewish tradition and belief to “Judeo-Christian civilisation”, and the general impact of belief in God on the happiness of individuals, among others subjects.
