The UN Human Rights Council gathered yesterday to hear from the Independent Commission of Inquiry on the 2014 Gaza Conflict (a session that, for the most part, was a one-sided bash-fest of Israel, and saw many countries with dubious human rights records of their own, including Syria, Iran, Qatar, and Sudan, condemning Israel.) Meanwhile, another group of organisations also convened in Geneva that day, gathering a series of legal, military, and international affairs experts to speak at a two-part panel and fill in what the UN report missed.

NGO Monitor and UN Watch teamed up to host a panel, with Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, moderating. The first panel saw expert analysis of the 2014 conflict and the UN report; the second panel featured commentary from two groups of military experts: the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA)-commissioned Gaza Conflict Task Force and the High Level Military Group.

AIJAC has compiled a series of expert reports that refute claims made by the UN report, including reports that were discussed at the event. The two-part panel series can be viewed here.

Several of the experts also provided testimony at the UN Human Rights Council meeting, included Colonel Richard Kemp, Major-General Michael D. Jones, and Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey Corn.
